Anyone with experience in raising children knows how challenging it is to get a young child to sit quietly in a restaurant or a crowded place.
However, this can never be an excuse for a child to misbehave and disturb other guests or customers.
A father shared a story with a columnist about an incident involving his mischievous son and a waitress attempting to “discipline” him.
Apparently, the father was of the opinion that letting his son run wild in the restaurant wasn’t a big deal and criticized the waitress’s behavior towards the unruly child.
“I had hoped for a little sympathy but instead I got an ‘award’ for bad parenting,” the father wrote.
He mentioned that allowing his four-year-old son to “explore” the restaurant wasn’t a big deal, but the waitress intervened “sternly” to prevent it.
The father even went to the club manager to complain.
The columnist’s response was clear: “Yes, it’s your fault.” It’s massively your fault.
Nicole Cliff pointed out that it’s difficult for a four-year-old to sit still, but that doesn’t justify letting him roam around while waitstaff carry trays of food and drinks.
In conclusion, he stated that the boy isn’t ready to dine in a restaurant until he can behave better.
