The bride learned with regret that her 102-year-old grandma was very ill and couldn’t attend the happiest day of her life. Discover the touching gesture she made to ensure her grandmother could still be a part of this highly anticipated event.
While Tara Foley’s grandmother, who was supposed to celebrate her wedding, was very eager to attend, the nurses were adamant. The 102-year-old woman couldn’t travel by plane, which was impossible given her advanced age and weak heart.
This news deeply disappointed the bride-to-be, as she and her grandma were very close.
The bride recalls that her grandmother lived nearby and she could visit her often. Even after moving to Texas, Tara continued to visit her. “She has always been a very important person in my life. We have a very special bond,” she says emotionally.
Faced with the prospect of her beloved grandmother’s absence, Tara Foley had only one solution: to go to her home in Connecticut. Without delay, she flew to her with her not-yet-finished dress.
She then had her hair and makeup done with her grandmother and participated in a beautiful photo session. “I felt closer to her that day than ever before,” she recalls. She adds that they didn’t even pay attention to the presence of cameras and just had a wonderful time.
27 days after this special moment captured in photos, Stasia passed away. Her granddaughter says, “Although she was 102 and had lived a very long and fulfilling life, it’s never easy to lose anyone. I am very fortunate to have had her in my life.”
