Why are young mothers always so tired? Simply because they have to keep an eye on their little ones all day long. Yet, leave a child alone for just two minutes, and it’s impossible to recognize your own home!
That’s exactly what happened to a British mother, Fey Comber. The young mom had to leave her three-year-old son, Ollie, to change clothes, and upon her return, a surprise awaited her. The little one had painted a £5,700 living room with white paint! Just like that.
Fey remembers leaving her child alone to get ready for guests. However, she quickly noticed that the baby was unusually quiet.
‘If a child is quiet, you need to rescue the house immediately!’
‘I realized something was wrong and quickly went downstairs to the living room, where Ollie was. My suspicions were confirmed: Ollie had covered most of the room with white paint! How could he do that in just five minutes?’ wonders the young mom.
While Fey was getting ready, little Ollie grabbed a pot of white paint. The three-year-old opened it and poured the contents onto a new carpet that cost £1,200. He then took his bike and rode through the ‘puddle,’ splashing paint on the living room and hallway floors.
Not only did he damage the carpet, but he also left ‘white footprints’ on the £3,800 new sofa, walls, and stairs. His clothes, hands, feet, and hair were also covered in paint,’ recalls Fey.
Fey tried in vain to clean the paint off the sofa and upholstery. Even experts from the house and office cleaning company were unable to help.
‘They just laughed and advised her to throw away the sofa and carpet,’ the young lady recounts.
Fortunately, Fey was aware of her three-year-old son’s capabilities and had insured the new furniture in advance. She did this right after finishing the living room renovation.
As a result, the monetary damage caused by little Ollie was fully covered by the insurance company.
