In the letter, my grandfather explained that despite the years of bitterness and anger, he had learned that his neighbor’s daughter was seriously ill.
She needed a kidney transplant, and her condition was worsening every day.
His neighbor, although distant and cold, had never asked for help from anyone, but my grandfather couldn’t remain indifferent to the suffering of this young woman.
He had then made the decision to leave a large sum to cover her medical expenses.
