Joan MacDonald is now 75 years old and lives in Ontario, Canada. Exactly 5 years ago, sitting in her doctor’s office, the news about her health was far from encouraging. It was actually quite alarming.
Her condition was rapidly deteriorating: at that time, she was obese, weighing nearly 90 kg, and suffering from many ailments. To manage all these health problems, she had been taking a variety of medications for years.
After discussing with the doctor, Michelle, Joan’s daughter, broke down in tears. She told her mother that her health was worsening and that she would have to double her medication if she didn’t change her lifestyle.
Joan decided to step out of her comfort zone to pursue a healthier life. “I was tired of being constantly sick and tired,” she admits.
