😩 For our 20th wedding anniversary, my husband had booked a hotel for a romantic weekend, but then he insisted that we sleep in separate rooms. When I found out the reason, I burst into tears.

For years, I had struggled with my illness. My husband had always stayed by my side and supported me as best he could. Thankfully, I recovered, and the illness became a thing of the past.

We could finally live normally again, and for our 20th wedding anniversary, we decided to book a hotel for a romantic weekend.

But when we entered the room and my husband saw the bed, his smile disappeared.

— Why is there only one bed? he asked nervously.

— That’s normal. It’s our wedding anniversary, I said, feeling a little embarrassed by his reaction.

He insisted on getting another room and went to speak to the receptionist. In the end, we took two rooms.

That night, I wondered whether it was because of my illness, whether my husband no longer found me attractive, when he knocked on my door.

He entered my room with red eyes and locked the door behind him. When he finally told me why he had asked for separate rooms, I burst into tears.

The rest of my story is in the article in the first comment 👇👇👇.

He finally explained why he had asked for a second room.

It wasn’t because he no longer wanted to be with me, but because he was ashamed of his own body.

Ever since I had become ill, he had stopped taking care of himself.

He slept poorly, ate more, exercised less, and had gained nearly sixty pounds.

He wore oversized clothes to hide his physical changes and even wore a compression garment to look slimmer.

When he discovered that we were going to sleep in the same bed, he panicked.

He was afraid that I would notice his weight and no longer find him attractive.

So he preferred to get another room rather than show me his body.

That’s when I realized that he felt the same insecurity I did and that he was also afraid that he was no longer desirable in my eyes.
