😲 “I just gave her a lesson, because she doesn’t listen to me and needs discipline,” my mother-in-law said coldly. Seeing the condition of my daughter’s hands, I decided to teach my mother-in-law a real lesson.
Recently, I had been finishing work a bit late, and my mother-in-law was the one picking up my daughter from school and taking care of her until I got off work.
One day, I received a call from my daughter. In a trembling voice, she said, “Mom, can you come pick me up?”
“What’s wrong, where are you, sweetheart?” I asked, worried.
“In the bathroom… I locked the door so grandma wouldn’t hear me. She hurt my hands because I didn’t listen to her right away.”
I froze. “Stay locked in and don’t open the door to anyone until I get there.”
I hung up and rushed to my mother-in-law’s house. She opened the door as if everything was normal.
I found my daughter in the bathroom, her hands red and swollen.
“What is this?” I asked my mother-in-law angrily.
“I just gave her a lesson. She doesn’t listen and needs discipline,” she said coldly.
The condition of my child’s hands and my mother-in-law’s cold attitude made me furious. So I decided to teach her a real lesson too.

Without thinking, I called child protective services.
I explained everything that had happened: my daughter’s red hands and the cold way my mother-in-law justified her actions.
My voice was shaking, but I tried to stay clear so they would understand the situation.
The person on the phone told me to stay calm and explained that they would intervene quickly.
Shortly afterward, a social worker came to check on my daughter.
She took notes and spoke with me.
My mother-in-law was summoned and was forbidden from approaching my daughter until the day I allow it again.
