You will never guess what Jodie Leigh Fox, a 24-year-old woman from Brentwood, Essex, northeast of London, does for a living. She drives buses! Yes, you read that right. At just 21, Jodie swapped her job as a caregiver for that of a bus driver, a dream she had always cherished.
It all started when she saw an ad on the back of a bus and decided to take a chance. And since then, she has had no regrets.

“You’re too pretty to be a bus driver,” they often tell her. Imagine the scene: you sit behind the wheel, and instead of receiving cordial greetings, people comment on your beauty… It could discourage anyone, right?
Despite her love for driving, Jodie sometimes feels isolated. Her colleagues are often older, making it hard for her to form friendships with them. She spends most of her time working alone, which can be tough.
But she doesn’t let it get her down. She continues to drive buses, coaches, and even limousines, determined to break the stereotypes associated with her job.
To become a bus driver, Jodie had to go through a series of rigorous tests. “It’s not as easy as people might think,” she says. She had to pass English and math tests and complete about five different modules before she could take her theory exam.
