Austin Simms is the owner of Cups Coffee&Tea in Roanoke, Virginia. He observed that he and his employees were often subjected to undignified treatment and that many of his customers lacked politeness. He resolved to put an end to this situation.

After thinking about it, he came up with a solution: introducing a completely new pricing policy.

This includes educating customers and making them pay the price for their lack of respect. The more vile the behavior, the higher the price. To inform his consumers of this new rule, he placed a poster at the entrance to his establishment. On this poster are 3 different phrases, with different prices.

Then, with a little respect: “A coffee, please” for €2.50!

Finally, if the person is nice and takes the trouble to say “Hello, a coffee, please”, they will only pay €1.50!
