đ˛ My sister called me in a panic to tell me that our father had died, while he was sitting right next to me, calmly eating breakfast. When I discovered why she had lied, I was left speechless.
One evening, my father came to my house late at night and decided to stay. The next morning, we were having breakfast when my phone rang. It was my sister.
As soon as I answered, she burst into tears.
â Dad has died⌠Iâm so sorry. He has just passed away.
I thought I had misheard her. I looked at my father. He continued calmly eating his eggs, completely unaware of what my sister had just told me.
â What? ButâŚ
I wanted to tell her that he was sitting right in front of me, but I decided to stay quiet to understand why she was playing such a joke.
She could barely speak through her tears, and I would have believed her if my father hadnât been sitting in front of me. I played along to find out what was going on, and when I discovered why she was lying, I was left speechless.
The rest of my story is in the article in the first comment đđđ.
I decided to pretend that I believed her story.
As I understood it, she didnât know that Dad had already been discharged from the hospital.
She explained that she was devastated and that we needed to quickly take care of Dadâs affairs before things became complicated.
She then asked me to come to her house because she had prepared several documents that I needed to sign to make the process easier.
While she was talking, I discreetly asked Dad to remain silent and not to intervene under any circumstances.
I went to my sisterâs house with the supposed documents.
She explained that after Dadâs death, we needed to settle the inheritance, and she had prepared the paperwork to make everything easier.
But when I read them carefully, I discovered that they were designed to transfer most of the bank accounts, the house, and several other assets to her.
She had taken advantage of what she believed was Dadâs death to take everything for herself.
I then calmly asked her why she was trying to get me to sign those documents.
She went pale.
Then I took out my phone and showed her a photo of Dad that I had taken just a few minutes earlier.
She didnât say another word.
