On the edge of the Mexican desert was Marco’s home, where from time to time the man collected cacti and peppers growing nearby to use in his kitchen.
One day he found a seemingly ordinary jalapeno in the desert and decided to cook it. As Marco later said, it was a serious mistake: after 20 minutes, the acrid smell forced him to leave the house.
Marco said that not far from his secluded home, a small farm once flourished, growing peppers for sale. Its owner left long ago, but there were probably seeds left in the ground from which some plants sprouted.
I picked a jalapeno and another pepper similar in appearance to the first one, but a little lighter. Common sense told me to start small, and I cut off only small pieces,” the guy already told reporters.
The man threw pepper onto a hot frying pan, then got distracted and after a while realized that something was going wrong. The smell of pepper quickly spread throughout the house and turned out to be extremely pungent. Not only the people had to leave the premises, but also the dog, who whined pitifully and asked to go outside.
It turned out that Marco had stumbled upon a real red Caribbean pepper, extremely hot. He was lucky that this “jalapeño” did not become part of his dish.
