For a year, my husband had been suffering from kidney failure and had to undergo regular dialysis sessions. When the doctors told us that a kidney transplant could save his life, I didn’t hesitate for a single second. I decided to give him one of my kidneys.
Thankfully, the operation went well. But only three days later, while we were still in his hospital room, my husband started talking on the phone, thinking I was asleep.
