The Story of an Extremely Touching Photo: A Woman Carries Her Amputee Husband on Her Back
It’s not surprising for newlyweds to post their photos on social media. However, the photos of this special couple are circulating online for very particular reasons.
It’s a photograph of a woman carrying her disabled marine husband on her back.
This photo session took place during a family trip to Idaho. The remarkable story of Kelly and Jesse Cottle from San Diego, California, is worth retelling.
In 2003, Jesse joined the United States Marine Corps and served there for six years before being sent to Afghanistan to dismantle improvised explosive devices.
Unfortunately, a sudden accident left Jesse disabled.
“I couldn’t sleep. It was hell, but I always believed I could get through this terrible situation. I had to keep living. I did it for my family, for my good friends. I kept the faith amidst the complexities so that I would come out victorious,” Jesse confides.
In fact, Jesse would never have met Kelly if he hadn’t attended a swimming competition upon his return to the United States.
“I remember how he became interested in swimming,” added Kelly.
They immediately fell in love and got married.
