An elderly woman knew better than anyone that music is food for the soul. She loved going to concerts by her favorite band until her health deteriorated and she could no longer get out of bed. Unbeknownst to him, the universe had a heartwarming surprise in store for him.
Franca is a big music fan. You might think she loves music because she knows its timeless nature. Perhaps every time she hears her favorite songs, she is transported to another world, much more magical and enchanting than the existing one.
Franca particularly enjoys listening to her favorite band, Cosimo and the Hot Coals, a Milanese band with a rich collection of Hot Jazz music. The five-member group performs at swing dance events, jazz clubs and festivals in Italy and around the world.
There was a time when Franca loved nothing more than attending Cosimo and the Hot Coals live concerts and having a spectacular time. But over time, her health began to decline and, eventually, she reached a point where she could no longer get out of bed.
While Franca missed a lot in her life, not being able to see her beloved band intensified her feelings of emptiness. When Cosimo and the Hot Coals learned of his predicament, they decided to remedy the situation.
Knowing that their beloved fan could no longer attend their live concerts, the group came up with a brilliant plan. The five-piece Italian band serenaded Franca at her home, giving her an extraordinary live performance.
According to Scoop Worthy, the band members would sometimes stop by her house and perform in her bedroom. And every time Franca saw her favorite musicians, she was overwhelmed and felt indescribable emotions.
To share his precious reaction with the world, Cosimo and the Hot Coals captured short clips of their performances and shared them on social media. They shared the first part of the video on September 17, 2022.
In the clip, the group sang and played instruments in front of Franca’s bed. The text overlay read:
”A 94 year old girl loves us so much. She would like to attend our concerts but she is no longer able to.”
Franca was lying in bed while her favorite band performed before her eyes. The text overlay further read: “That’s why sometimes we just stop to play him a song, and every time his reaction is priceless.”
Besides being her favorite band, Franca has another reason to love them. She is the grandmother of the band’s drummer, Michele Capasso. Franca loves watching her adorable grandson play the drums.
As the five young men gave her an exclusive performance, Franca was deeply touched. The caption of the video reads in part:
”Serenade for Nonna Franca. Some time ago we visited Michele’s grandmother, Grandma Franca. His reaction was priceless and reminded us of the real reason we love making music so much.”
