😯 I found this metal object in my grandparents’ garden and was shocked when I discovered what it was.
One summer afternoon, while I was at my grandparents’ house in the countryside, I decided to tidy up a corner of the garden.
While I was rummaging near the old shed, I found a metal object buried under layers of dirt and leaves. It was a strange shape, both solid and complex, with a mechanism whose function I couldn’t understand 🤔.
Driven by curiosity, I took it to my grandfather to show him my discovery. As soon as he saw the object, a nostalgic smile crossed his face.
🤯 He then told me the story behind this mysterious tool, and I was shocked to discover what it was used for. Curious to know more?
The rest of the story is in the article in the first comment 👇👇👇.
My grandfather then told me that this object was a mole trap, several years old.
He used it when he was young to protect his garden from pests.
He explained that these traps were extremely effective.
The mechanism I had found was a spring that would trigger as soon as a mole passed by.
It was a homemade invention, surprisingly simple.
I was really amazed.
A mole trap!
I never would have thought that such a simple object could be so essential for maintaining gardens in the past.
My grandfather also told me it was an heirloom from his own father, and that he had several of them in the garden when he was a child.
I looked at him, impressed, almost in awe of that time when everything had a practical function without any frills.
And that’s how I discovered a little piece of history buried under the garden roots!
