Today, I noticed these strange balls in my garden 🧐. I didn’t understand where they came from or what they were 🤔. I immediately called my husband, and we decided to contact the veterinarian, thinking that maybe our dog had ingested something, and that this was the result.
The veterinarian asked me to take a photo 📸 and send it to him so he could identify what it was. A little while later, he called me back and explained what they were. I was really surprised 😲.
I’ll explain everything in the article in the first comment 👇👇👇.
First, I called my husband, but he also didn’t understand what it was.
So, we decided to call the veterinarian, because I thought my dog had eaten something, and that this was the consequence.
The veterinarian listened carefully to me, then reassured me and advised me to keep an eye on my dog.
He also asked me to send him a photo of these strange balls.
A few minutes later, he called back and explained that they were myxomycetes.
They are also known as ‘wolf’s milk’ or ‘wolf’s teats.’
They are not toxic, but they are not edible either.
It’s a kind of strange fungus that grows on tree trunks and decomposing wood.
They look like inflated balls, and what’s surprising is that they can move and slightly “breathe.”
It’s a species capable of surviving without water and food.
They’re not deadly, but you should avoid contact with them because it can cause skin and mucous membrane inflammations.
I decided not to take any risks, especially since my dog spends most of his time in the garden.
I picked them up and burned them far from the house.
