Dikec explained why he decided to compete in this manner at such an important event: “Shooting is a sport, and in sports, the most important thing is for the athlete to be comfortable. For example, I get very tense when I have something extra on me, and it interferes a lot.”
Dikec also admitted that he owes his success to his daughter. Before the competition, the girl taught her father how to “breathe properly”: “You take a breath, then exhale, and when there is no air left in your lungs, you shoot.”

Yusuf Dikec started his sports career at the age of 35. Before that, he worked in the police. According to the athlete, he does not intend to stop here and aims to win a gold medal at the next Olympic Games.
