Kevin and Dominika Gill are a Dominican couple who had three beautiful children, two boys and a girl.
However, these compassionate spouses decided to adopt a very problematic boy from the orphanage to provide him with a better life.
Therefore, the family initiated a foster care program. The couple chose Andrew, a 10-year-old orphan.
The child had been in state custody since the age of six because his biological parents had their rights terminated.
Andrew had four brothers, all of whom were immediately adopted.
However, the situation was quite different for him. The Gills revealed that the boy had been taken in by 25 different families.
But each time, prospective parents returned him to the orphanage because the child had a cruel character and his behavior was unbearable.
All families considered him a wild child because he was completely out of control.
Yet, Kevin and Dominika decided not to give up and do everything they could to help the child adjust to the family and feel comfortable in his new family situation.
The first two years were not easy for the family at all, as Andrew could not change his behavior. He still screamed and demanded to be released.
But with a lot of love and patience, the couple managed to keep and raise the boy. Jock was the Gills’ eldest son, and he was the same age as Andrew.
And he played a crucial role in saving his adoptive brother.
It seemed that Jock was the only anchor for the boy, preventing him from running away.
Jock’s love and friendship transformed Andrew’s character, and the boy officially became a member of the Gill family.
The looks from strangers were often surprised to see the boy in a multi-racial family.
“Love has no color. Andrew is our son, just like Jock, he is a part of us, and we love him endlessly,” said Dominika.
