😯 A lady couldn’t calm her grandchildren: she refused to give them to their mother, until the flight attendant intervened and said something after which she had no choice but to obey.
My last flight was unforgettable, but not in a good way. We were already on the plane, about ten minutes away from takeoff. It was a long flight, and I was hoping everything would go smoothly.
In front of me, there was a lady with her grandchildren, twin babies who were nine months old. As soon as we took off, one of the babies started crying, but that was just the beginning. The other baby quickly joined in with the crying.
The lady did everything she could to calm them down: she rocked them, spoke to them softly, but nothing worked. The children’s mother was sitting next to her, but the most surprising thing was that the lady was adamantly refusing to hand the babies over to her.
“I can take care of my grandchildren,” she kept saying.
The piercing cries of the babies were irritating all the passengers, but no one dared intervene. I put on my headphones, but even that didn’t help.
Then, the flight attendant stepped in and said something that made the lady hand the babies over to their mother, who calmed them in a matter of seconds.

The flight attendant approached the lady and said with a professional smile: “Ma’am, you know, babies pick up on the stress of adults, and their mother is the person who can calm them down the best.
I’m sure if you hand the children over to her, you’ll also be able to relax and enjoy the flight.”
The lady, although surprised by this intervention, seemed to hesitate for a moment.
Eventually, she gave in.
She turned to her daughter-in-law and handed over the babies, who, in a few seconds, calmed down in their mother’s arms.
A soothing silence settled in the cabin, and the flight attendant, satisfied, returned to her seat.
The passengers sighed in relief, and the rest of the flight went on in a much calmer atmosphere.
