😦 An arrogant customer refused to be served by me, saying I was “too old” then the unexpected happened.
After forty years of working as a nurse, I had retired. Since my husband was ill, I couldn’t afford to stay without working, so I decided to take a job in a small café. They were happy to accept me despite my age.
One day, I approached a customer who was sitting with her children, holding the menu. She began placing her order without even looking at me.
Then, when she finally looked up and turned toward me, she said loudly: “Excuse me… could you send another waitress? Someone more… fresh?”
“Sorry?” I said, surprised.
She looked at me and added in an arrogant tone: “Your hands ruin my appetite, and I don’t want them touching my children’s food.”
She spoke so loudly that the other customers could clearly hear her, but no one intervened—everyone remained silent. Then the unexpected happened.

He calmly stood up and approached the table.
The customer, still irritated, continued: “I refuse to be served by her.”
The man looked at her and then asked in a calm voice: “You are Mrs. L. from company H…, correct?”
She stiffened slightly: “Yes… why?”
He gave a cold smile: “Interesting. I am your direct superior. The owner of your company.”
He continued: “And you have just insulted a woman in a public place, in front of children.”
She turned pale: “I can explain…”
“No. First, you will apologize. Then we will talk about your position.”
