I slipped into the line behind her and, forcing a smile, I began to respond: “Donât worry, Iâll talk to the manager after you leave. Iâll make sure he takes your thoughts into account.”
The young woman, clearly relieved that someone was going to support her, immediately accepted.
“Ah, thank you! Finally, someone will do something!”
I explained that the old man worked here to keep himself occupied, and it wasnât about the money.
“Since heâs not here for the salary, it shouldnât be a problem to get rid of him, right?” I added, with a sarcastic tone.
She began to doubt and, realizing she had fallen into her own trap, quickly paid for her groceries and rushed out of the store.
At that moment, the manager arrived, curious about the situation.
