When Daniel and Dustin Johnson began their relationship, they were on the same wavelength. Both wanted to start a family, but they ruled out the option of surrogate motherhood.

Dustin reportedly shared the reason behind this decision: “We knew there were children in need of a loving home.”

Directly after the couple exchanged their vows, they embarked on the project of adopting children. As novices in this area, Daniel and Dustin decided to take pre-adoption courses.

The search ended sooner than expected when they came across a sibling group of six children, who had been in different foster homes for 3 years through an adoption agency.

Killing two birds with one stone! Daniel and Dustin finally managed to fulfill their desire for parenthood while also reuniting a sibling group. However, adjusting to a family that is not their own overnight was not easy.

It took time and patience for these children, who had witnessed domestic violence and drug abuse.

The first days were difficult for everyone; the new parents discovered who they were dealing with—traumatized children haunted by the scars of their past. This did not discourage them; on the contrary, they mobilized to help the children out of their predicament.

Love and trust were established, slowly but surely, between the children and their new parents. Thanks to therapy, the mental health of the sibling group improves day by day.
