The Canadian couple Katherine King and Wayne Adams have been living on an artificial floating island for 30 years.
Their self-built home is located near Vancouver Island.
The couple has always had a deep connection to nature, and one day they decided to permanently leave the noisy city and live near the small bay of Liberty Cove.
To construct their floating island, Wayne chose a large piece of wood that had been washed ashore by the sea as a foundation and began building their wooden structure.
The platform of the floating island drifts on the waves but is connected to the coast by cables.
The couple lives completely isolated from civilization.
The nearest settlement is five kilometers away, but they have no fear, even though wild animals occasionally appear in the vicinity.
This extraordinary habitat requires constant work. To heat their spaces, a fire must be lit every day.
But the Adamses find peace and serenity in the midst of nature.
Katherine, who was a dancer in the past, spends her free time dancing, playing musical instruments, and caring for her flowers and plants. She also loves to swim with her husband.
She enjoys gazing at the sea and admiring the seabirds and fish in the clear water.
The Adamses say that when they occasionally go to town for errands, they quickly get tired and rush back home as soon as possible.
