A girl spends her birthday money to help 14 neglected kittens: “Thank you for encouraging her.”

Rescuing stray animals is a humane and compassionate behavior that deserves encouragement, especially when our four-legged friends are at risk. And when it comes to being a hero, age is never a barrier.
This is demonstrated by 13-year-old Australian Lucinda, whose kind heart led her to rescue a group of kittens she encountered on her way. She did this using the money gifted to her for her birthday, according to the Herald Sun published on November 19, 2015.
A few days after her birthday, the girl stumbled upon 5 abandoned kittens while riding her bike in her neighborhood. She reported that they seemed lost and neglected. However, they were so adorable and helpless that she couldn’t leave them in the street.
“It was raining that day, so I hurried home to get a laundry basket and bring them to safety,” she added. Incredibly, when she returned for the little ones, 9 more kittens approached her. She was speechless: Lucinda became, against all odds, the guardian of 14 kittens.
Once home, the young girl called the Lort Smith Veterinary Centre in Melbourne and scheduled an appointment with the team. But she needed a vehicle to transport all the kittens to the clinic.
That’s why she had the brilliant idea to use the money she received as a birthday gift. “A few days earlier, one of my parents had given me $50 for my birthday. So, I thought to use it wisely and take a taxi to bring all these lovely kittens to Lort Smith,” she proudly recounted.
Upon arrival at the clinic, the kittens received all the necessary care to be placed in loving new homes. This wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness and great generosity of the girl.
Touched by this noble initiative from the young heroine, the hospital staff quickly spread the story on their Facebook page. Positive comments poured in: many internet users reacted to the photos to commend little Lucinda’s admirable gesture.
Some even wanted to reward her! “I’d like to give this adorable little girl back that money and also give her a gift! What an amazing child,” commented one user. Some even went so far as to contact the hospital to offer to reimburse her for her generous donation. Believe it or not, the lovely blonde with clear eyes wished for these donations to be given directly to the animal hospital.
