Anya had gone to bed calmly because her husband, Lev, had warned her that he would be coming home late that night.
He and his colleagues at the office had decided to relax and have a good time this Friday, as the week had been rather stressful.
In the morning, Lev was sound asleep, and Anya decided to take her son to the zoo because the weather was nice outside.
However, when she entered her son’s room, he immediately asked, “Mom, do adults do somersaults in bed? I thought it was something we do at the gym…”
At first, Anya didn’t understand what her 5-year-old son was talking about, but he explained further: “Daddy was on the phone yesterday, and he said, ‘We had a lot of fun in bed; the neighbors should be jealous…'”
Anya couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Was Lev cheating on her? Or had her son misunderstood something?
She couldn’t imagine her child making up such a story. Then she began to understand because there had been subtle hints, and she had pretended not to see them.
Lev often worked late, a significant portion of his money went elsewhere, he ate less at home, and he had fingerprint lock on his phone.
While Lev was still sound asleep, Anya took his phone, unlocked it with his fingerprint, and locked herself in the bathroom.
There, she found a particular contact named “Her” and opened the messages. To her great astonishment, it was indeed his mistress. The conversation topics made her flush with anger.
After lunch, Lev woke up and quickly searched for his phone. He then told his wife that he would have to work late again next week, citing audits and upcoming reports at the office.
Anya couldn’t hold back and asked, “What about ‘Her’?”
Lev, taken aback, asked, “How do you know? Did you go through my phone? You know, spouses shouldn’t invade each other’s privacy. So, you don’t trust me anymore?”
Anya replied firmly, “Don’t try to deflect the issue. You cheated on me, and you lost my trust while having an affair.”
During their divorce proceedings, Anya temporarily lived in her son’s room. Then, she disappeared from his life forever. As for the so-called “Her,” she moved in with Lev but didn’t stay long.
She was skilled as a lover but not as a wife. Thus, Anya remained alone.
