He’s 103 and she’s 100: their secret to a long and happy marriage will make you think

Nowadays, it is unusual for married couples to stay together for decades.

When you ask these married couples who have been together for 50-60 years what their secret is, the answer is almost never the same.

And their straightforward approach to having a long and happy marriage.

D.V. Williams, 103, and Willie Williams, 100, celebrated their birthdays and anniversaries at a Charlotte church, as they sang with friends and family.

They definitely deserved the celebration. The couple discussed their long marriage, that spanned the Civil Rights Movement and the Great Depression, and revealed the secret of a long love: compassion.
