😦 I heard one of the nurses whispering to the other: “She doesn’t know anything yet, if she finds out, it’s over,” when I discovered what had happened, I was speechless.
Three weeks ago, my husband had been complaining of dizziness and chest pain, nothing serious. Nothing that could have hinted at the sudden collapse he suffered at work.
And there I was, beside him in his hospital room. He had fallen into a coma, and the doctors couldn’t yet say when he would wake up.
I went out to grab a coffee. As I passed the break room, I heard two nurses talking.
At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but little by little, I realized they were talking about me. One of them said to the other, “How is it possible she doesn’t know yet?”
The other replied, “No, I think she has no idea. If she finds out, it’s over.”
These words echoed in my head as I rushed back to my husband’s room. What I discovered there left me speechless.

The door, which had been open, was now locked.
A maintenance worker quickly passed by, telling me I couldn’t stay there, and then walked away without another word.
Everything pointed to the fact that someone was hiding something from me.
Ten minutes later, the doctor finally arrived.
He invited me to follow him to his office, where he told me, “Your husband is alive, but we found traces of unprescribed medication in his blood.”
Someone had poisoned him.
The doctor explained that an unknown visitor had used my husband’s code to enter his room the previous night.
The police quickly conducted their investigation, and thanks to the surveillance cameras, they identified a man who had entered the hospital.
A few days later, the individual was arrested in an abandoned apartment.
