😦 I missed an interview that could have changed my life to help a stranger: the next day, I received a call, and what I was told left me speechless.
I was 10 minutes late for a very important interview. This job could have changed everything. I would have had a more stable situation and could have enrolled my son in a good school.
I was driving fast, stressed about the time. On the highway, I saw a car with a flat tire and a woman standing next to the car, clearly waiting for someone to stop and help her.
Since I didn’t have much time, I hesitated at first, but my conscience pushed me to turn back and help. I got out of my car and asked if I could do something for her.
She looked at me and explained that her phone was dead and she didn’t know what to do. Fortunately, she had a spare tire, so I immediately got to work.
She kept thanking me, saying she had been stopped for an hour and no one had stopped to help her.
After changing the tire and making sure she was safely on her way, I realized it was already too late and my interview had ended.
The next day, I received a call from an unknown number, and what I was told left me speechless.

It was the husband of the woman I had helped on the highway.
He warmly thanked me for helping his wife out of such a complicated situation.
He told me that he wanted to invite me to dinner to thank me in person.
During dinner, I talked about my difficulty in finding a stable job to give my son a better life.
To my surprise, he listened attentively, and after a moment of thought, he offered me a position at his company, one much more interesting and better paid than what I could have imagined.
I had missed an opportunity to change my life, but life had given me a much better one, thanks to this simple act of helping a stranger.
