😦 My daughter-in-law had an accident with my car, which completely destroyed the front end of my car. When I asked her to reimburse me because I didn’t have any money to repair my car, my son said to me, “You have no right to ask her to do that.” I decided not to tolerate this, and here’s what I did to teach them a good lesson.
From time to time, my daughter-in-law would borrow my car, and I would look after my grandchildren during that time. One day, as usual, she asked me for the keys so she could go run some errands.
An hour later, she called me and told me that she had been in an accident. The car was damaged, but fortunately, she wasn’t injured.
Since I didn’t have enough money to repair the car, I asked my daughter-in-law to reimburse me. After all, she was the one who had left my car in that condition.
My son was at home and, after hearing me, he said:
— You have no right to ask her to do that.
Can you imagine that? Yes, I was happy that my daughter-in-law wasn’t injured, but she should at least have paid to repair my car. And my son’s words also hurt me deeply. So this is the lesson I decided to teach them.

A few days later, my daughter-in-law came back to see me, tears in her eyes, and handed me an envelope containing part of the money needed for the repairs.
That day, they finally understood that helping someone out of love does not mean accepting being treated unfairly.
