😦 My husband called me, panicked: “Take our daughter and get out of the house right now!” Ten minutes later, the police had surrounded our home.
It was an evening like any other—or at least, that’s what I thought. I was preparing dinner while my daughter sat at the table, drawing.
I looked at the time. My husband should have already been home. So I picked up my phone to call him and see where he was. That’s when he called me.
His voice was shaking: “Take our daughter and get out of the house right now.”
I tried to ask what was going on, but he cut me off: “Trust no one, don’t ask any questions, just do what I’m telling you. I’m sorry… I’ll call you back in a few hours.” And the line went dead.
I immediately grabbed my daughter. We were still inside the house when I saw police cars through the window. There was a knock at the door: “Ma’am, open up! Police!”
I froze, not knowing what to do.

I held my daughter’s hand tightly, and we left through the back door.
We went to a house that only my husband and I knew about.
A few minutes later, my husband arrived.
He took me in his arms and said, “The colleague I was working with was involved in illegal activities. He wanted to set me up. That’s why I told you to leave immediately.”
We stayed in that house while my husband’s lawyer presented undeniable evidence showing that he had never been involved in any illegal dealings.
His colleague had forged his signature in an attempt to frame him.
The police confirmed these findings after investigating the falsified documents.
In the end, we were able to return home and leave this whole ordeal behind us.
