😯 My mother pushed me into the pool during my sister’s wedding, saying I didn’t belong there: everyone laughed… until a very important guest of my family came over and held out his hand to me.
I was 20 when I left my parents’ home, and since then, I only visit them for holidays. Our relationship has always been tense, and they’ve never been warm toward me—especially my mother.
I still went, because in my family, missing a celebration always caused more problems than showing up and staying quiet.
For my sister’s wedding, they only told me one day in advance, and honestly, I went reluctantly.
They had organized the ceremony in our garden, and when I arrived, the yard was already full. My sister was in the center, surrounded by her friends. When she saw me, she didn’t even come to greet me, as if I were just another guest.
