My sister crashed my new car and, smiling, simply told me: “Mom and Dad will make you forgive me” — here’s what I did to teach her a proper lesson

😲 My sister crashed my new car and, smiling, she simply said to me: “Mom and Dad will make you forgive me.” Here’s what I did to give her a good lesson.

I should point out that my little sister is a bit spoiled. Our parents have always been less strict with her, and she believes she can get away with anything. The only person in the family who sets limits for her is me.

One day she asked me to let her take my car to go to a party. I offered to drive, but she replied that she had to go with friends and there wouldn’t be room for me in the car.

For several days she kept pestering me for the car and I eventually gave in.

On the day of the party she called to tell me she had wrecked my car. I rushed over to make sure she wasn’t hurt and I learned that she hadn’t even been driving.

Her irresponsibility made me furious. I had spent years saving to buy that car, and she had entrusted it to a friend as if it were hers, without telling me.

And all she could say after the accident was: “Mom and Dad will make you forgive me.” Those words made me see red. I decided to teach her a lesson, once and for all — and here’s what I did.

No negotiations, no checks from our parents.

She would have a weekly job: washing, mowing, shopping — until she understood the cost of her choices.

She began to cry, not out of fear of punishment, but because she finally realized the magnitude of her negligence.

The lesson wasn’t vengeful: it was an open door to maturity.
