đŻ My son always left a glass of water by his door: we thought it was just a game, until the day we discovered the truth.
One night, before going to bed, my 8-year-old son took a glass of water. It was a little strange because usually he doesnât drink much water and prefers juice, and I often have to make him drink the necessary amount each day.
I said to my husband, âLook, he took it without me forcing him.â
âThatâs surprising,â he replied.
Later, while going up to the second floor, we passed by our sonâs room and noticed the glass on the floor.
âWhat is this? Why did he leave the glass on the floor?â I asked, surprised.
The next day, the same scene repeated. When we asked him why he was doing this, he smiled and simply said, âI just wanted to do it this way.â
So every night, he would place a glass of water on the floor in front of his door before going to bed.
We thought it was some kind of game for him⊠until we discovered the truth.

One evening, he said, âI do this so Grandpa doesnât have to wait long.â
My heart tightened.
My father-in-law had passed away a month ago.
My son, however, still couldnât understand that Grandpa wouldnât be coming back.
During his last days, he had difficulty breathing and often asked for someone to bring him a glass of water.
My son was only eight years old, but he thought that if he prepared a glass of water, Grandpa wouldnât have to wait.
It was his way of staying close to him and taking care of his grandfather.
We realized that it wasnât a game, but a gesture full of love and remembrance.
