😯 My wife humiliated me in front of our guests by saying that her ex was doing well financially, unlike me. My mother intervened, and what she said shocked everyone.
I recently lost my job, and until I found another one, I was taking care of our son while my wife worked. In a few days, we were going to celebrate our son’s second birthday, and I had taken care of all the party planning.
I decorated the living room and prepared various dishes. I had also invited all our friends and their children.
All the guests had already arrived, and it was only my wife who came a bit late and, visibly, in a bad mood. When I asked her if everything was okay, she didn’t even answer me.
Then, when everyone was seated at the table, she spoke sarcastically and loud enough for everyone to hear: “My ex was doing well financially, unlike you.”
I was frozen. I know that lately, we’ve been facing financial difficulties, I’ve lost my job, and she’s the one supporting us at the moment, which is really hard for her. But I never expected her to say such a thing, especially not in front of our friends.

After a heavy silence, my mother turned to my wife and spoke in a firm tone.
“What you just said is humiliation. And to tell you the truth, no one knows, but…”
She turned to me and continued: “The little one, our son, is not his. He’s not biologically his son, but he loves him and has always loved him as his own.”
A silence fell over the room.
All the guests were shocked, and they left, leaving us alone.
My mother added: “There are sacrifices made out of love. He accepted this without question, never said a word, and yet he has always given everything for him. He raised him as his own.”
