😦 On returning from my business trip, I went to pick up my daughter from my parents’ house: when I arrived in front of their house, I saw police officers standing outside : one of them grabbed my hand and said, “Your daughter…”
Normally, when I go on a business trip, I leave my daughter at my parents’ house. This time, however, my trip lasted longer than expected.
When I got back, I tried calling my mother from the airport, but she didn’t answer. I then tried calling my father, but he didn’t pick up either. That worried me because they usually pick up on the first ring.
I then took a taxi, and during the ride, I kept calling my parents, but still no answer.
When I arrived in front of their house, I noticed several police cars parked outside.
I didn’t even wait for the taxi to stop; I jumped out of the car and ran toward the house. A police officer stopped me and told me I couldn’t go inside.
In a panic, I started shouting that it was my house.
That’s when the officer grabbed my hand and said, “Your daughter…”

“Your daughter must be taken to the hospital; there are signs of abuse,” he said in a serious voice.
I couldn’t believe it.
“No, that’s not possible,” I stammered, completely panicked.
Then, another officer came closer and, in a calmer voice, explained, “We found out it was your sister. She confessed to having abused your daughter.”
I stood frozen.
My sister? The one with whom I had always shared so much? Why? I couldn’t understand.
The officer told me that my sister had been jealous of me for a long time, of my life, my success.
I had always sensed it, but I never imagined that it could drive her to do something like this.
