You can safely say about this man – he was carried away. After all, the American Horace Burgess managed to build perhaps the largest birdhouse in the world.
Only in it, apart from birds, can people live safely.
He started building in 1993, then the man planned to make a small hut, but in the end it turned out almost a skyscraper!
The most interesting thing is that Horace built the house himself without the help of other builders and architects. He drew the design himself and got to work.
As materials, he used old barn boards, construction debris and parts of abandoned houses. Over time, good neighbors began to share materials.
Imagine, the house has a basketball court (!) and even a church. And on the top floor there is a penthouse.
There are lots of stairs, corridors, terraces, balconies and loggias, and there are even several secret rooms (shh…)
True, the fire inspectorate did not approve this building and, due to the lack of safety measures, did not allow living here. But Horace himself continues to live there. The man is very proud of his creation.
