A little resident of Palm Springs, California, USA, decided to swim in the pool, but he forgot that he didn’t know how to swim yet.
Zack Petite, a firefighter and father, was filmed on a security camera rescuing the toddler. It turned out that the toddler named Cole was Zack’s son.
The incident happened on a sunny day, when the one-year-old baby decided to join her older sister in the swimming pool.
With the innocence of his youth, the toddler removed his life jacket and jumped into the water, unaware of the danger that awaited him.
Fortunately, at that fatal moment, the boy’s father, Zach Petite, was there to save his son. The man reacted instantly and pulled him out of the pool.
The child’s mother was in the house at the time and didn’t arrive until the end of the very emotional scene.
Petite said if he hadn’t been so close, the outcome could have been sad.
This experience reminds us that we should never turn our backs on small children, especially when they are near water.
“This incident was proof that accidents like this could happen to anyone, regardless of their profession,” said Eddie Sell, the Zack Station Fire Chief.
Although the beginning of the video, in which we see the little boy submerged for several seconds, is disturbing, afterward, we feel a deep sense of relief and divine gratitude, because the baby was saved and emerged safely.
Zack Petite was as always a valiant warrior, whether it was his son or a stranger. But his act also constitutes a true miracle, a testimony to the ever-watchful eye of God over his children.
