Jelle Fresen, a 37-year-old man, was living together with his girlfriend Danielle Epstein. The couple led a peaceful and happy life.
However, Jelle had serious health issues. The doctors eventually diagnosed him with a brain tumor, a rare and highly aggressive form.
Danielle, who was supposed to take care of her partner, made the decision to distance herself from him.
According to the woman, it was a difficult choice, but since she couldn’t do anything, she had to leave him.
Jelle, a very kind and calm man, became depressed and anxious due to this illness.
After a 17-hour surgery, Jelle had to relearn how to walk.
He underwent radiation therapy for one and a half months and was also scheduled to undergo chemotherapy for nine months.
Danielle couldn’t bear such a life as it was affecting her mental health. In her opinion, it didn’t make sense to stay with him as she couldn’t help him.
“I love him very much, I suffer because I can’t help him. But I can’t do anything to assist him,” Danielle explains.
The woman decided to do something different in honor of Jelle.
Danielle moved in with her father and, since she had never run before, participated in various marathons to raise funds for brain tumor research.
