😲 She poured a pot of water over Nadia in front of all the inmates, but what she discovered on the bottom of the pot made the guard turn pale.
Brigitte poured the entire pot of water over Nadia. The inmates applauded, convinced that she had just taught her a lesson.
But Nadia didn’t move. She simply lowered her eyes toward the metal container.
The hot water had just revealed three sets of numbers on the outside of the bottom: 7310, 214, 4082.
Nadia smiled.
“Thank you, Brigitte. You’ve just shown me where you’ve been hiding everything.”
Brigitte turned the pot over, shouting that there was nothing there, but Nadia had already called a guard.
When the guard saw the numbers, she turned deathly pale.
“4082… That was Élise Martin’s number.”
Élise was an inmate who had officially been transferred two years earlier. Yet Nadia knew there was something suspicious about her disappearance. Élise was her sister, and she had never believed the story about her vanishing.
When Nadia pointed to the number 214, the guard realized they had to act immediately.
That cell had been condemned for years. Behind a loose brick, they discovered personal belongings that had belonged to Élise, along with a pendant and a small key marked 7310.
Nadia clutched her sister’s pendant in her hand.
“Where does this key lead?”
Brigitte looked away. The elderly guard whispered a few words that sent a chill down Nadia’s spine…

“There used to be an old room beneath the laundry,” the elderly guard whispered. “Number 7310…”
Nadia looked at the little key in her hand. She realized that her sister’s disappearance was connected to that place.
“Take me there\!” she demanded.
Brigitte tried to intervene.
“You can’t open that door\! You don’t know what’s behind it\!”
The guard stared at her suspiciously.
“Why did that frighten you so much, Brigitte?”
No one answered.
A few minutes later, Nadia, the guard, and two prison officers arrived at a metal door hidden behind some old shelves. Nadia inserted the key into the lock. A click echoed through the room.
The door slowly swung open.
Inside, they discovered boxes filled with files, several phones, and bags containing personal belongings. On a dusty table lay a photograph of Élise.
Nadia picked it up with trembling hands.
On the back, someone had written a sentence:
“If Nadia discovers this place, tell her that I never wanted to disappear.”
Nadia’s eyes filled with tears.
“My sister was here… You knew about this, didn’t you?”
Brigitte lowered her head, unable to answer.
The guard then opened a file bearing Élise’s name. The documents indicated that she had been transferred two years earlier. However, no destination prison was listed.
Suddenly, Nadia noticed a signature at the bottom of the last page.
It belonged to the prison’s current director.
“Call him immediately\!” she ordered.
When the director entered the room, his eyes fell on the photograph. He stopped dead in his tracks.
“Who authorized you to open this room?” he asked in a trembling voice.
Nadia stepped toward him.
“I want to know what happened to my sister\!”
The director remained silent for a few seconds before whispering:
“Élise never left this prison…”
Nadia felt her legs begin to give way.
But before she could ask another question, Brigitte burst into tears and revealed a truth that no one could ever have imagined…
