😦 “Stop pretending,” my stepbrother said as he pushed me into the pool: my whole family burst out laughing, without the slightest idea of what was about to happen next.

A month ago, I had a serious car accident. Since then, I couldn’t walk normally without a special brace supporting my knee and leg. Even with it, every step was a real struggle.

Some days, the pain was so intense that I would stay locked in my room, crying in silence. Despite everything, I always tried to keep a smile on my face in front of my family.

But to my stepbrother, Lucas, all of this was just an act. According to him, I was simply exaggerating to get attention. And worst of all, no one really defended me.

Last weekend, the whole family gathered around the pool for a big party. Laughter echoed everywhere, and everyone was taking photos to capture the moment. I was sitting by the edge of the pool, just trying to enjoy the evening without putting too much strain on my leg.

Then Lucas came up behind me:

– “Stop pretending. I’m sure you can walk normally.”

Before I even realized what he was doing, he violently pushed me into the pool.

I fell into the water with a cry of pain and panic. Shocked, my brace came loose and sank to the bottom of the pool.

At first, my family laughed, thinking it was a harmless joke. But within seconds, the atmosphere completely changed when a man stepped in.

Suddenly, a man ran toward the pool, immediately realizing something was wrong.

Without hesitation, he jumped into the water to save me.

My prosthetic had sunk to the bottom of the pool and my leg hurt so much that I could no longer move properly.

The man helped me out of the water and covered me with a towel while the others laughed.

His name was Marc Delcourt, an entrepreneur who had come that evening to sign an important contract with my father.

Seeing Lucas’s attitude and the silence of the rest of my family, his expression changed.

My father tried to downplay the situation, calling it a simple joke, but Marc interrupted him:

“A family that humiliates someone injured in front of everyone does not inspire any trust.”

A few minutes later, he left the house without signing the contract.
