But at the M Health Fairview Children’s Hospital, there was a healthy 27-year-old nurse who didn’t hesitate.
Her name was Taylor Pikkarainen. She called the child’s family and announced her decision.
After fighting on the front lines against Covid-19, the American nurse decided to donate a kidney to the two-year-old child.
There were two surgeries.
First, one of Taylor’s kidneys was removed, and then it was implanted into the baby.
