The babies, three girls and one boy, were born on October 26th through a planned cesarean section at 31 weeks of pregnancy.
On October 19th, 2018, tests revealed that one of the quadruplets was suffering from a life-threatening blood supply issue.
35 doctors and nurses participated in the deliveries.
The first daughter was born weighing about one and a half kilograms.
Then came her sister, the first of identical twins and the youngest of the quadruplets, weighing just under 900 grams.
The third one was born weighing 1100 grams. Finally, their brother was born, the largest of the four, weighing over 1,600 grams.
All the children were immediately transferred to the intensive care unit.
They couldn’t eat on their own yet, but all three were already breathing on their own.
Tracey became the oldest mother of four children.
The woman had three adult children from her first marriage and eight grandchildren ranging from 7 months to 11 years old, but she had always dreamed of having another child.
When Tracy turned 50 years old in December 2017, she decided it was time to fulfill her dream.
“It was a very stressful time. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to continue the pregnancy even at 28 weeks.
But thanks to my strength, I managed to reach 31 weeks. I was very determined to succeed and didn’t allow myself to think of anything else,” says Tracy.
