When a baby is ready to come into the world, it waits for no one.
A mother from Kentucky named Heather Skaats recently experienced this to the extreme; she gave birth to her child on the side of the road while her other five children were in the car.
In a scene that could be from a movie, Skaats delivered a healthy baby boy and then had to drive to her house to complete the birthing process.
Suddenly, Skaats’ contractions became sharper and closer together – a clear sign that the baby was ready to be born.
“I literally drove with all the kids in the car when I felt like I needed to stop,” she explained on Facebook, “got out of the car, ran to the other side onto the grass, and literally had a baby. It happened so fast and so easily!”
Skaats was able to catch the newborn upon arrival.
“He immediately started crying, and he just opened his eyes and looked at me.”
The mother and her children then had to hurry home because the baby was still attached to her. Shortly after, their midwife arrived.
Everyone is now happy and healthy at home. This family will never forget this moment.
