Sooner or later, everyone thinks about retirement. Pensions, health and housing. This is the story of three resourceful grandmothers who prepared for their retirement in advance.
Instead of moving to a nursing home or burdening their family, they found creative, independent solutions.
A 72-year-old grandmother decided to sell her large house and buy a small camper van. She could enjoy the comfort of her home while avoiding utility bills and meticulous maintenance.
Her caravan has everything she needs: a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. The bedrooms are located upstairs, but she wanted a comfortable staircase designed for her.
And here is her friend’s house. She is only 60 years old but uses a wheelchair.
Her house was designed with accessibility in mind: a practical ramp for easy access to the front door and an interior stair lift to access the attic where she likes to sleep.
A third friend bought not only a house, but also a comfortable porch and veranda.
To create a spa-like atmosphere, she installed a jacuzzi bathtub and transformed her home into a personal retreat. Her neighbors and two other friends like to come to her house for a moment of relaxation.
These resourceful women who live in a mini-village enjoy a fulfilling old age.
They manage their pensions effectively and lead active, positive lives without help from loved ones.
