Charli Worgan, 27, is only 121 cm tall. She suffers from what is called “dwarfism.” Her husband, Cullen, has a different form of dwarfism, which led doctors to warn them about what could happen if they had children. Today, they have three.
Charli was diagnosed with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism, while Cullen has a rarer condition called hypochondroplasia.
Given that their diagnosis involves many risks beyond just short stature, they were warned before deciding to start a family.
According to Little Things, doctors told them they had a 25% chance of having a child of average height, and an equal chance of having a child who might not survive.
In 2015, Charli became pregnant with their first child. Later that year, their daughter Tilba was born. Like her mother, she was born with achondroplasia.
After their daughter’s birth, the family created an Instagram account to document their journey, including the highs and lows.
Tilba quickly became a happy, vibrant little girl who ended up charming everyone around her. But it wasn’t all easy. The couple had to work hard to raise Tilba so she wouldn’t be affected by bullies.
Despite the warnings, the couple chose to have another child, who was also diagnosed with the same condition as his mother.
The family melts the hearts of thousands of people through their Instagram account.
They currently have over 300,000 followers, and Charli uses the page to challenge misconceptions about short stature.
“It’s an emotional rollercoaster, with moments of love and overwhelming happiness. We wanted to have even more children, and I became pregnant for the third time. Wanting to get pregnant again and relive the experience through pain, vomiting, and fainting as if I were 17 again.”
