😲 We had a daughter through a surrogate, and when my husband bathed her for the first time, he shouted: “We can’t keep this child!”
After ten years of marriage, we had been unable to have a child, and we finally decided to turn to a surrogate.
The process was handled with lawyers on both sides, and everything went smoothly. We attended every ultrasound to watch our little girl grow.
The delivery went without any problems, and a few days later, we brought her home. It was the happiest day of our lives. But that very evening, everything changed.
My husband offered to bathe her, and I stood beside him watching. When he turned the baby over to wash her back, he froze, as if he had seen something terrifying.
He turned to me with frightened eyes and shouted, “That’s impossible!”
“What’s going on?” I asked, panicking.
He kept repeating, “We can’t keep her. We can’t keep her.”

On the baby’s back there was a thin line, almost invisible, but clearly a surgical scar.
“It’s an operation…” my husband whispered.
“Someone must have done it after the birth. Without telling us.”
My hands began to tremble. “But why? Why would a newborn need that?”
He clenched his teeth, panicked. “If they hid it from us… it must be something serious. An infection, a malformation… I don’t know.”
“We need to go back to the hospital,” I said.
The doctor sighed softly before replying, “Your daughter had a minor abnormality at birth. A quick procedure was necessary to prevent a potentially serious infection. The operation was carried out as an emergency.”
The doctor calmly added that the surrogate mother’s consent had been obtained before the procedure, and that everything had gone smoothly with no danger to your daughter.
Relieved and finally at peace, we left our fear behind and returned home with our little girl.
