After 30 years, the doctor unexpectedly met a premature baby he had saved. Each time, the doctor tried everything, but it seemed there was no chance.
Dr. Michael Shannon always loved his job.
He often had to literally fight for the lives of tiny newborn patients.
So it happened on the day when Dr. Michael’s patient was a little boy named Chris Trokey.
The baby was born prematurely, weighing only 1,300 grams; the boy was very weak and could barely breathe on his own.
He had exactly half the chance of surviving.
But Dr. Michael didn’t give up on his little patient and indeed pulled little Chris from this world.
A few weeks later, the happy parents were able to take the baby home.
It turns out that after 30 years, Dr. Shannon himself needed urgent help.
The man was involved in a terrible accident.
The car was wrecked, and doctors had to cut through the jammed door.
The fuel that had leaked during the accident caught fire, and the tragedy seemed inevitable.
Fortunately, firefighters arrived very quickly.
One of them managed to get the elderly doctor out of the car in the nick of time, literally cutting a metal door at the last moment.
Only a few months later did the doctor manage to discover the name of the young firefighter who had saved him.
The man’s name was Chris Trokey. Dr. Michael couldn’t believe what had happened.
In his practice, there weren’t many children saved in nearly desperate circumstances, and he remembered them by name.
Naturally, Chris’s parents remembered the doctor who had returned their son to them in good health.
When all of this became clear, the meeting between the doctor and Chris’s family turned out to be very emotional.
Today, the families of Michael and Chris continue to communicate like very close relatives.
