My daughter and my son-in-law died in a terrible accident. Since that day, I have been raising my granddaughter alone. She loves swimming, and from time to time, I take her to the pool.
For her sixth birthday, I decided to organize a big party at a pool resort. We laughed, played, and enjoyed every moment.
Then, as I was getting out of the water, a woman in her thirties approached me. In a contemptuous tone, she said:
— You should be ashamed of wearing a swimsuit at your age. There are children here!
Her friends burst out laughing. I lowered my head, overwhelmed by shame. I never imagined that strangers would allow themselves to judge my body. Besides, we were at a swimming pool… What did she expect me to wear to swim? I couldn’t go into the water fully dressed. Don’t you think I’m right?

When my granddaughter heard this woman insulting me, she did something I will never forget.
She asked an employee to accompany her, then she came back with the pool manager.
She looked him straight in the eyes and said: “It’s her. She made my grandmother cry on my birthday.”
The manager listened to me, and another customer confirmed my words.
The event organizer then asked this woman to leave the premises because her behavior was considered unacceptable.
