Meet Carl Hammer and Reva Truitt. Both are over ninety years old but are still fully embracing life.
Both widowed, they lost their respective partners after more than seven decades together. The odds of starting a new relationship might have seemed slim, but fate had big plans for them.
Hammer, 97, and Truitt, 95, lived in California and met during one of their happy hours.
They discovered they lived two doors apart and quickly developed feelings for each other. The North Natomas couple was amazed to once again experience butterflies but welcomed the new adventure with open arms.
They dated for five months, and Hammer was thrilled when his girlfriend agreed to marry him. Struck by love, he said, “It happens when two sparks ignite. You have a bonfire, and that’s what we have.”
The big day took place on June 18, 2022, and the couple shared a romantic kiss during the ceremony.
Although their vows were not legally binding, this special moment was a way for Hammer and Truitt to proclaim their love to the world.
They organized a grand event with live music, cake, and joy. The bride wore a beautiful blue dress and pearls, while her husband wore a dark suit. They looked perfect together and enjoyed when their guests applauded them.
The sweet couple rode together on a decorated trike and cheerfully waved to the onlookers. The moment was precious for all witnesses, and one participant shared:
