Recently, the actress spoke openly about her problems with illegal substances. “I really got into it, and it became a dark and sad world for me,” she said after leaving her acting career.
“I’ve been sober for almost four years now,” Bynes said at the time and credited her parents for their “real help in getting back on the right path.”
But things went awry last year. The actress was detained for 72 hours in a psychiatric facility after calling emergency services herself.
The actress was seen walking naked on the streets of Los Angeles on March 19. She stopped a passing car and called 911.
Reportedly, the actress told the driver that she was having a psychotic episode. She was then taken to the nearest police station, where specialists decided she needed to be placed in a psychiatric institution.
Since the incident in 2023, the actress has largely stayed out of the news until recently. The 38-year-old former star was spotted last week with black hair and super-long nails.
She was wearing an oversized gray t-shirt and khaki shorts, complemented by a crossbody bag.
When photos of her current look appeared online, fans were shocked. One person wrote: “It’s very scary. She has turned into a monster.”
Another added: “This shouldn’t have been posted online. This woman is going through a huge mental crisis. You should be ashamed.”
